InsForge vs Supabase for AI agents: where HeroMate fits
InsForge and Supabase both give AI coding agents access to Postgres, auth, storage and backend operations. Supabase offers a mature platform and an official MCP server; InsForge builds its backend and deployment workflow around agents. HeroMate is worth comparing when you also want a visual app builder, declarative business flows and your Mate to use selected capabilities of the published app. If you're still sorting app builders from backend platforms, start with that guide.
Here's what actually differs, without the marketing gloss.
Supabase: mature, and now agent-reachable
Supabase is the backend most developers already know: Postgres, auth, storage, realtime, and Edge Functions, with years of production hardening behind it. Its official MCP server lets Cursor, Claude Code, and other clients connect to an existing Supabase project — read schemas, run queries, manage the database — through the same protocol HeroMate and InsForge use.
Supabase now gives an agent substantial management access through MCP, including schema, queries and Edge Functions. Its focus remains backend services rather than a visual prompt-to-app builder or HeroMate-style declarative flow editor. You can build complex logic with Edge Functions and other integrations, but the application-level process is yours to design.
Real fit: you already run Supabase, you're happy with it, and you just want your agent to read and write the project that's already there.
